Connect Your Personal Android to Intune

This article helps you enrol your personal Android phone with Intune (your company's mobile device management system) so you can securely access work apps and emails.

What you'll need

  • Your personal Android phone
  • Your work email address and password
  • A Wi-Fi connection

Steps

Step 1 — Install the Company Portal app

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
  2. Search for Intune Company Portal.
  3. Tap Install and wait for the app to download.

Step 2 — Sign in with your work account

  1. Open the Company Portal app once installed.
  2. Tap Sign in.
  3. Enter your work email address and tap Next.
  4. Enter your work password and tap Sign in.

Step 3 — Begin device enrolment

  1. Tap Begin on the "Set up your device" screen.
  2. Review the information about what your company can and cannot see, then tap Continue.
  3. Tap Accept to agree to the terms.

Step 4 — Activate the Device Administrator

  1. You will be prompted to allow Company Portal to manage your device.
  2. Tap Activate (or Allow) to grant the necessary permissions.
    • This only gives IT access to work-related data — your personal content is not affected.

Step 5 — Complete the setup

  1. Wait while your device is registered. This may take a minute or two.
  2. Once complete, you will see a "You're all set!" (or similar) confirmation screen.
  3. Tap Done.

Step 6 — Verify enrolment

  1. Open the Company Portal app.
  2. Tap the Devices tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Your phone should appear in the list with a status of "Managed" or "Compliant".
